Finally the Blog is Redesigned

My code is current and I am finally getting to a happy place for my blog. I opted to not go over the top with the background. The only BIG embellishment is my header. I can't help it...it is the only place to really express your style visually without taking away from the content. The blog is not complete, but I had enough done to roll it out and get back to blogging.

New additions

Social Media: I now have social media icons on my blog. More will be added but I wanted to get the basics on here. The icons are from GraphicsFuel. They have a wide selection of open-use material for your graphic design work.

GraphicsFuel has many icon designs, but these happened to be my favorite. I considered using icons that matched my header, but the PR person in me said it was better to go with recognizable icons. And so that is what I did. If you like these icons and want to use them, click on the graphic.

Updated Look: As some of you know, I finally made the plunge into the world of digital scrapbooking. It took me so long because I could not let go of my tangible paper products. I made the switch because I really fell in love with a few designers' works. So my new page is made with elements from one of those designer's kits.

The blog design uses elements in Fayette Design's kit "Life without Lists." I will be writing a blog post about Fayette later, but in the meantime, take a look at her website and store. If you want to see the specific kit I used, click on the kit graphic.

My header is designed with elements exclusively from the kit. I created the layout in Photoshop. The background is simply a digital scrapbook paper in which I embellished with a scalloped border from the kit.

Navigation Bar: Unlike my last blog, I have a navigation bar. It is limited right now, but I have some new adventures coming up and I will be growing that bar into a dynamic part of the blog. I can't give it away, but I will tell you this...soon there will be free downloads.

More to Come

This is just the beginning. My blog will continue to grow as I embark on some new adventures. I suppose it is because my creative bug - who happened to be on vacation the last two years - is finally back. I am developing a website and that will roll out when I have all my other ducks in a row.

Thank you to my friends and family, and all new readers. Things are about to get exciting!
