Hello Christmas and a Freebie

Thanksgiving is hardly over and everywhere I look it is Christmas. I don't mind. I really enjoy everything about the holidays. Now that I live in Utah, I even get a white Christmas every now and then.

The scrapbook kits for the holidays are making their way into the shops and I have made more Christmas layouts this week than I have my whole scrapping career.

Created by Jill Scraps just released the "Hello Christmas" collection, and as with all her kits, I love it! Take a look at the joyful fun Jill created:

Hello Christmas Kit

Hello Christmas Paper (it is in the kit)

Hello Christmas Alpha (in the kit)

Hello Christmas Smatters

Hello Christmas Tape Pieces

Hello Christmas Word Bits

If you landed on my post from somewhere other than Jill's blog or newsletter, go visit Jill's post. She has some wonderful goodies for you there and on her Facebook fan page.

And I borrowed a few pictures from my aunt because I could not resist the darling photos of my cousins. The first layout is made from the main kit of "Hello Christmas." The purpose behind this design was to show off that one photo you would use for a card or feature in a frame upon the mantle.

This second layout was created with a combination of the kit, journal cards and wordbits. I love journal cards and tend to use them for things other than journaling. In this one, they became the main focus of the 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 squares.

I decided to go ahead and create a template for the first layout because I know it can get frustrating trying to add so many paper pieces to a page. Now you can create your own scrapbook page celebrating that ONE photo you want to show off for years to come. If you use the layout, please leave a link. I will be putting together a post of all the amazing pages you gals have made with my templates.

Download template. The download contains PSD, TIFF, PNG and PAGE files.

Note: In my example you may notice there is a frame but it is not on the template. The frame is from the Hello Christmas kit. I added it because I loved what it added to the page. With the template, it is designed to have a photo in the middle. Feel free to add a frame from a kit you have or pick up Jill's kit.

As of Dec 1, 2013, there is another free template you can access from my blog. It was designed in conjunction with a second release from Created by Jill Scraps. Go to "PS I Love You Now on Sale and a Freebie" to collect it and see the sample layouts.

Enjoy the template and pick up Jill's kits. You will find so many uses beyond scrapbook pages for them.
